As you leisurely walk down the stone steps to the fishing pier, darkness descends, then lifts to reveal the silvery moon rising in the distance, its enchanting reflection rippling and dancing across the water. The entire lodge can also be rented for small parties or other functions. If you need help finding a local caterer for your party, we would be glad to help.

The common room (shown right) is large and comfortable with a leather sofa and love seat, and additional seating at the bar area, large kitchen table, card room, and the front and back porches. There is a turn-of-the-century pool table, a large entertainment center with a DVD/VCR television with satellite, and a stereo. The card room is cozy and inviting with its wagon wheel table and games. A large stone and brick, double-sided fireplace divides the common room from the entranceway. Decor throughout the lodge could be termed "elegant western", and abounds in cowhide, rustic wood and iron, and antiques. Much of the furniture was custom made by Texas artisans. Scattered throughout the lodge are framed prints by western artists such as Charles Russell, Tim Cox, local artist George Boutwell, and others.
